Tony Petrello has had a stellar career as a Chief Executive Officer of Nabors Industries, a company whose executives are situated in Houston, Texas, but corporate headquarters are located in Hamilton, Bermuda.

With all the corporate success that Mr. Petrello has had in his life, especially being one of the highest paid CEOs in 2015, Petrello grew up with very humble beginnings in a working-class setting in Newark, New Jersey. Tony Petrello gained notoriety in his town for his fantastic math prowess.

Before Mr. Petrello was the Chief Executive Officer of Nabors Industries, he worked in law for many years. Mr. Petrello’s strengths as a lawyer included taxation, international arbitration, and corporate law. Starting in 1986, Petrello became the managing partner at the law firm of Baker & McKenzie. This firm was located in New York.

Regarding his business relationship with Nabors Industries, Anthony Petrello first joined the board of directors at Nabors in 1991. Many years later, Petrello replaced 81-year-old Eugene Isenberg as CEO on October 31, 2011. Mr. Isenberg stepped down and a year later, Petrello became chairman of the board of Nabors Industries.

Tony Petrello was wise to use the law degree that he earned at Harvard University to propel himself to the top of corporate management as the CEO of Nabors Industries. Petrello became part of Nabors Industries as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In addition to being a board member at Nabors Industries, Tony Petrello has also been on the board of director of the Hilcorp Energy Company, Stewart & Stevenson, LLC, and the director of MediaOnDemand.com. In terms of philanthropy, Petrello was the director of Texas Children’s Hospital.

Besides taking on the role of director of Texas Children’s Hospital, Petrello and his wife, Cynthia, believe in giving back to Houston, Texas with charitable acts. In 2006, Tony pledged at least $150,000 to create an annual prize at Yale.

Mr. Petrello not only donated 150,000 dollars to this annual prize, but he also pledged to match any donation of $150,000 or less. This endowment was created to honor Petrello’s Yale mentor, a genius mathematician, mentor and teacher, Serge Lang. Mr. Lang, who was born in France in 1927, did groundbreaking mathematics work with number theory.

Mr. Petrello earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University. He also received a master’s degree at Yale. Petrello attended Harvard University Petrello and earned his Juris Doctor in the 1970s.
